TNDP Executive Committee Election

TNDPThe object of the Tennessee Democratic Party (TNDP) Executive Committee is “…to promote the ideals and principles of the Democratic Party and to assist in election of Democratic nominees.” (TNDP By-Laws, amended 11/2/13)  Each senatorial district elects one male and one female to serve on the TNDP Executive Committee, and they serve without compensation.  Dennis Gregg from Crossville and Geeta McMillan from Sparta are our current Senate District 15 State Executive Committee members representing Bledsoe, Cumberland, Jackson, Overton, Putnam, and White Counties.  They also serve on sub-committees; Ms. McMillan on the Finance and County Party Development Committees and Mr. Gregg on the By-Laws and Personnel Committees. Both are running for re-election on the August 7 County General Election ballot; Ms. McMillan unopposed and Mr. Gregg challenged by an opponent from Cookeville who has never attended a meeting of the State Executive Committee, even though they are public meetings. The Cumberland County Democratic Party Executive Committee recognizes how valuable experience is in the current contentious political climate in Tennessee and asks that you please consider voting for the incumbent State Executive Committee members, Geeta McMillan and Dennis Gregg.
